Replacement Interval Guide

  • Vauxhall recommend replacement as follows:
  • →96MY – replacement every 40,000 miles or 4 years, whichever occurs first.
  • 97-98MY – replacement every 80,000 miles or 8 years, whichever occurs first.
  • 99MY→ – replacement every 80,000 miles or 8 years, whichever occurs first (tensioner pulley must also be replaced).
  • Meriva – replacement every 80,000 miles or 8 years (tensioner pulley must also be replaced).
  • The previous use and service history of the vehicle must always be taken into account.

  • Replacement every 100,000 miles or 10 years, whichever occurs first (tensioner pulley, guide pulley and crankshaft sprocket must also be checked).
  • Z17DTH:
  • →2005MY:Replacement every 60,000 miles or 10 years, whichever occurs first (tensioner pulley, guide pulley and crankshaft sprocket must also be checked).
  • 2006MY→:Replacement every 60,000 miles or 10 years, whichever occurs first (tensioner pulley and guide pulley must also be replaced). Check condition of crankshaft sprocket.
  • The previous use and service history of the vehicle must always be taken into account.

  • Astra-H/Signum/Meriva:
  • Replacement every 60,000 miles or 6 years (tensioner pulley must also be replaced).
  • All models:
  • 2001MY→ guide pulley(s) must also be replaced.
