- Camshaft sprocket holding tool – No.1 860 765 000 ((-).0191).
- Camshaft housing alignment pins – No.(-).0194.N.
- Camshaft sprocket holding tool – No.(-).0191.M.
- Camshaft sprocket locking tool – No.(-).0194.B.
- Crankshaft alignment tool – No.(-).0194.A.
- Flywheel locking tool – No.(-).0194.C.
General precautions
- Disconnect battery earth lead.
- Remove glow plugs to ease turning engine.
- Turn engine in normal direction of rotation (unless otherwise stated).
- Observe tightening torques.
- If fitted: Mark position of crankshaft position (CKP) sensor before removal.
- Do NOT turn crankshaft via camshaft or other sprockets.
- Do NOT turn crankshaft or camshaft with timing chain removed.
Valve timing procedures
- Removal/installation of timing chain requires:
- Camshaft housing removal [1] .
- Align camshaft sprocket:
- Align coloured chain links with timing mark on each sprocket:
- Timing chain tensioner must be installed before camshafts are installed [8] .
- Ensure camshaft keyway positioned as shown [9] .
